About BMTPC
The Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) was established in July 1990 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, to bridge the gap between research, development, and large-scale application of innovative building materials and construction technologies.
BMTPC serves as an apex institution promoting resource-efficient, climate-resilient, and disaster-resistant construction practices across India. It focuses on promoting the use of cost-effective, environment-friendly, and energy-efficient technologies in housing and building projects across the country.
The Council collaborates with academic and research institutions, government agencies, and private organisations to develop, promote, and spread proven and new technologies. It also undertakes demonstration projects to showcase innovative construction systems and build confidence among stakeholders.
Through these initiatives, BMTPC aims to create an enabling ecosystem that supports sustainable and inclusive development in the building construction sector.
Vision
To work towards an approach for promotion and transfer of potential, cost-effective, environment-friendly, disaster-resistant building materials and technologies, including locally available materials from lab to land for sustainable development of housing.

Promote the development, standardisation, and large-scale application of proven and emerging construction technologies.
2.Capacity Building & Skill Development
Act as a resource centre for training professionals, construction agencies, and artisans in good construction practices and technology transfer.
3.Disaster Mitigation & Management
Advanced methodologies and technologies for disaster risk reduction, retrofitting, and resilient planning of human settlements.
4.Project Management & Consultancy
Provide project management, consultancy, and technical services, including appraisal, monitoring, and third-party inspection of housing projects under various government schemes.
